The methods used during the performance in Lithuania

A performance based on the motives of Lithuanian folk songs „Ant kalno gluosnys“ and „Baltoji roze“ was being created in non-verbal language during partners meeting in Siauliai, Lithuania. The participants of the meeting were divided into four groups engaging in separate activities during the preparatory time for the performance. Each participant was given the opportunity to choose which group he would like to participate in. One of the groups was producing Lithuanian folk instrument skudutis (wooden pipe) which was used during the performance while the orchestra was playing on, the second group was making decorations as well as costumes for the actors, the third one shared the roles and practised the role-play, the fourth group played music in the orchestra composed of the residents of care home.
Decorations and costumes of the actors were created by using raw material: cardboard boxes, plastic bottles, sweet papers, magazines etc.
As group social work method is applied in care home everyday activities, thus the participants could reveal their talents, communication culture during this project. The above method helped to draw interest of the residents of care home and to involve a greater number of the participants.
